On Saturday Sept 8th, Elliot and I attended the launch party of Dinki Disco. I wasn’t sure what to expect of a kid’s disco on a Saturday lunchtime but to my delight it was super fun!
The venue, Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen, was great. Fully licensed and serves good quality food at reasonable prices. The staff were friendly and helpful.
As we walked in, to the left, parents were able to leave their pushchairs, which made the cutest “car park” imaginable. At the very end of this long venue, an area was set up for arts & crafts and face painting. These were very popular with the kids, while parents could hang around the bar, sipping their favourite beverage while keeping an eye on their little ones.
Kids of all ages enjoyed the sensory fun games with bubbles, giant balloons and a dedicated entertainer. While there I failed to see any daddy’s doing the customary embarrassing dance but this mother here hit the dance floor to the absolute horror of my 8yr old.
I would certainly recommend Dinki Disco and very much look forward to the next one (date to be announced).
